Our Global Collaboration series highlights stories from our global community and how their collaboration is inspiring change in the world of education and innovations.
It is less than four weeks until some of the most inspirational leaders in education gather at the HundrED Innovation Summit! Not only do we get to hear inspiring talks from leaders who are shaping the education space, but it also provides an opportunity for innovators to connect, build collaborations and share ideas of how to implement change in their own spaces. Throughout the year, our innovators have shared stories about what the HundrED community means to them and how it has impacted their work. Here is more from some of our ambassadors and innovators on what it means to them to be a part of HundrED.
Abhijit Sinha, Innovator behind Project DEFY (Design Education for Yourself)
HundrED is one very unique compendium. It is not just a list, it’s people. That’s why I come here. It’s not just hearing about an innovation; you want to know more, you want to go beyond that and know the intent. That is something that we can do here. You don’t stop at saying ‘okay this is my philosophy, my pedagogy and that’s yours.’ No its a positive discussion, where you can say; 'Okay you do it differently, and I do it differently. We may disagree on some things but we don’t have a dislike.' I enjoy that about being here and I feel that hundrED is sort of bringing together a conversation in the world which is not based on just adherence to an ideology but based on conversation, communities challenging, talking to each other and figuring out things. For a very long time, we have not tried to figure out things in education and HundrED can do it on that sort of scale. It's awesome and it’s positive to see that. I do look forward to seeing more and more of it and see where things go. I always believe this, when people have always asked me about failures, for instance 'what if DEFY just doesn’t work? But if it doesn’t work then it’s a great experiment, right? The same thing with HundrED, if it doesn’t achieve the things that it wants to, it’s a great experiment and we should be doing so much more of that.

I would say that HundrED it's a great initiative to facilitate this collaborative learning between regions and countries of the world and bringing them together. I am so impressed that it is not just about one country doing it best, but it is about sharing and learning from others and having the generosity to share and the humility to learn further so that the whole world grows and becomes a happier place for children's sake.

HundrED is awesome because I think it allows so many people around the world to interact with each other but also gives these people with all these wonderful innovations the motivation and encouragement to go forward and do more and reach out to more people. When we meet with all these amazing innovators, it also gives us the feeling that we are not alone in the world because a lot of the times what we do, is a very lonely walk. But I think HundrED has allowed us to meet with all these other innovators, these like-minded people and I think that is why HundrED is cool.
