Since 2016 the HundrED innovation database has grown to more than 4.000 K12 education innovations and we have conducted over 40.000 reviews on these innovative solutions and services with our community members. In 2023 we founded the HundrED Implementation Centre to support our research endeavours in the sector, and now the HundrED Foundation has been established in Geneva, Switzerland, to take the work even further.
“As HundrED has grown to reach global education innovator networks really well, we see a lot of opportunities in supporting the implementation of the most impactful and scalable solutions to reach more learners – this is the main mission for the HundrED Foundation and the research we do through the HundrED Implementation Centre. We are excited to welcome Olaf Hahn to be a director for the foundation and build the structures and best practices as the first sub-granting programs begin this fall,” explains Lasse Leponiemi, co-founder of HundrED and the chairman of the HundrED Foundation.
Olaf Hahn brings two decades of experience in education innovation impact funding and monitoring. He previously held leadership roles with the Robert Bosch Foundation in Germany and the Jacobs Foundation in Switzerland. He also co-created Education Sub Saharan Africa (ESSA), an NGO active in the tertiary education sector in Africa. Currently, he is co-owner of Catalytica Consulting, which supports foundations and corporations to increase their impact and conducts impact monitoring and evaluation for education innovations, funders, and other projects, with a focus on Africa and Europe.
“It is a true honor for me to join the HundrED Foundation and serve as its director. The ability to effectively foster the scaling of educational innovations is critical to addressing the world's multifaceted issues in providing quality education. I believe HundrED has an important role to play in promoting solutions that work at scale,” says Olaf Hahn.
