What we do?
The India School Leadership Institute (ISLI), is creating a pipeline of leaders equipped to lead excellent schools for children of low-income communities and establish the benchmark for school leadership training in India. ISLI programs are highly selective and provide an opportunity for high-potential educators to gain the necessary skills and exposure to lead schools delivering excellent outcomes for students. Our exclusive focus is on candidates with a demonstrated commitment to leading high-performing schools for children from disadvantaged communities. Our faculty consists of leaders from the education, corporate and non-profit sectors.
Why we do it?
With 1.4 million schools and 190 million students, India has arguably the world’s largest school system but very few avenues for school leaders to train themselves. This might sound alarming, especially if you consider that studies by McKinsey & Co., OECD and Wallace Foundation all report that school leadership is one of the most critical factors for student success. Another report by New Leaders for New Schools has found that 25% of gains in student achievement can be attributed to school leadership.
