This Spotlight on AI for Career Readiness continues our emphasis on empowerment in innovative educational solutions. We ask, “How can educators prepare young people for a future that demands flexibility even as it requires higher levels of expertise?” The answer: Through empowering young people to use their creativity, critical thinking, and curiosity; this can be done using Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) as a tool for teaching, evaluating, personalising, and creating. While the future of Gen AI is full of possibility and uncertainty, this report serves as a demonstration of how thoughtful consideration on the part of innovators can provide positive direction for its usage in education.
HundrED curated a shortlist of ten solutions originating and operating in Europe that captured our attention with their creative use of AI in career preparation for youth. The four solutions featured in this report combine Gen AI with the essential elements of critical thinking and human interaction to help young people navigate their path towards possible post-school futures. In conjunction with the HundrED Advisory Board’s evaluative and reflective comments and the words of the innovators themselves, we build a balanced view of how AI can be practically and effectively integrated into career preparation.
