At Mount Alexander College (MAC), we don't group students according to their age, but rather their passion and level of learning.

In 2016 MAC commenced a transformation. We had an enrolment of 280 students. We decided to put students at the centre of their learning by empowering them to take control. At MAC, students are not grouped by age but rather by their passion and level of learning. Students and parents are happier than ever. Enrolments are now more than 400+. Families are now actively seeking a place at MAC!

At MAC, students are empowered to Take Control of their learning. Vertical learning enables to follow their passion and to be appropriately challenged. No student is held back or left behind! A vertical classroom enables to mix sometimes with older and sometimes with younger students. If students have similar passions and learning needs, it just makes sense for students to work together, regardless of their age.  The vertical learning has enabled students to get to know so many more students across the school. Friendship groups have been broadened. All students are different. One size does not fit all. Vertical learning at MAC, enables students to cater their own tailor-made learning program.
