EVOLVE (www.evolve.iu1.org) was developed to provide a virtual platform for quality professional development for educators. Educators can subscribe to EVOLVE for access to professional development in a variety of ways. Professional Development videos are asynchronous allowing educators to view at their convenience to stay up to date on the latest instructional strategies and educational trends.
Essential Virtual Online Learning Vault for Educators, or EVOLVE, is a virtual platform where educators can receive professional development anytime, anywhere. This platform was created to address the need of providing professional development to educators in a continually changing environment. As the students learning environment has changed, so should the educators. Through EVOLVE, teachers are provided with much needed flexibility in how they are able to access and obtain professional development. EVOLVE's professional development videos are asynchronous allowing educators to view at their convenience to stay up to date on the latest instructional strategies and educational trends. Videos are brief and educators can expect sessions to be 30 – 60 minutes in length and if rented for 1 day, educators will have 24 hours to fully watch their session. Subject areas include Math, Science, STEM, Maker, Social Studies, Art, ELA, and more!
EVOLVE began as means to address the need of providing educators with access to professional development in a variety of ways. The idea for EVOLVE started in the fall of 2020 and was launched in the new year. As EVOLVE grows over the years, Intermediate Unit 1 will continue to add to as well as expand the platform. Plans to introduce regional and national partners to the professional development platform will add further reach and educational opportunities for educators. With the recent launch of the EVOLVE platform, educators now have access to professional development from anywhere and they are able to continue their professional growth on their own time. Intermediate Unit 1 through EVOLVE will continue to provide innovative professional development opportunities for educators.
The IU1 EVOLVE platform began as a pilot idea after the school closures in March 2020 from COVID-19. In an effort to continue to provide PD, IU1 started a free PD site for educators where they could receive quality PD from anywhere and view on their own time. With the success of the free site, IU1 wanted to continue to expand and offer more PD through the EVOLVE Platform. www.evolve.iu1.org
