About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Until now, online education had remained in the back seat as an alternative to traditional, offline education. Tink was established in 2015 with the belief that what we teach, how we teach and how we assess students’ results need to change with the digital age. Therefore we have built our unique approach of complementing offline K-12 education with online re-learning.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

History has always been full of surprises, some of which resemble the challenges of the last two years. While these may seem at first glance to be inconvenient interruptions to the normal flow of life, it can be easily observed in retrospect that they are also opportunities for great transformation. Hundreds of millions of students struggled to continue their education as educational institutions struggle to make a smooth transition to formal education due to inexperience and infrastructural or pedagogical deficiencies. At Tink we believe in shared responsibility and the right to access to quality education. Therefore we started airing all our lessons live on our YouTube channel for the benefit of Turkish speaking students. We reached 1,789 students outside of our school through this endeavor and were listed as the most socially responsible school in Turkey at Ozyegin University's research. This approach has also won our founder, Zeynep Dereli, the female entrepreneur of the year award

How has it been spreading?

Our effective Use of Technology in Education has changed the face of education and it has created more educational opportunities. Both our teachers and students have benefited from our Tink approach and students are getting more interested in learning with technology. The use of technology in education has removed educational boundaries, both students and teachers can collaborate in real time using advanced educational technologies.
Technology is not having cool iPads or expensive gadgets; it is about the learning process. Technology has to improve the learning process and aim at improving student’s grades.
Technology has to facilitate and stimulate individual learning. Our graduates are a testament to our approach. They have won several awards and already own successful startups.
