Creating a new operating system for smartphones that becomes an educational tool managed by the educational system, that is, by schools. Such customized smartphone can be used by to children, since it won’t have apps nor general connection to the network. It will only have tools that, starting from concrete reality, will be able to encourage an autonomous and personal approach to knowledge.

School in the pocket is a didactic tool that promote direct contact with reality, so can be experienced by everyone in the most adaptive way.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Children and teenagers have early contact with smartphones, computers, televisions and many other digital media that provide an image of reality strongly conditioned by economic purposes. The tool will give the educational system a further possibility, because today the school is perhaps the only channel that can still remain coherent and neutral, managing not to be influenced by economic forces.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

The school assumes that it can "teach" pupils to be citizens of the world and give them all the necessary skills, but unfortunately the media are much more interesting and captivating. There is no more chance for them to be themselves and be satisfied and happy. The tool will therefore exploit the digital channel (more suitable forthe new generations) to connect culture and school contents to real and concrete reality, for a new, democratic, free and individual approach to reality.Devaluing, mitigating or canceling the effect of social media on the new generations by giving children and young people a new "connection" tool that refers to reality. A new way of using the network through an operating system that does not have economic, but educational purposes; that proposes values ​​and not products, that accompanies the growth of individuals not customers.

How has it been spreading?

Currently it has not yet been proposed in any school. I hope to launch an experiment as soon as possible to spread a new and innovative method for teaching. Parents will be able to give their children a safe and calibrated tool to the actual needs and requirements of the child because it is studied on the basis of the observation by the teachers who in this way takes into account the individual characteristics of each one, and not of any program app designed for everyone but in reality for no one. The collaboration between school and parents is thus concretized in an educational pact that is concretely realized in the instrument.
