Project Eco Brick

Making earth clean and green by using our dust bin.

My problem was of single use plastic in our school area as i dont like scattered wrappers of plastic which is hazardous to mother earth so i started an activity ( a class room modal ) to eradicate this plastic pollution and this activity recived the appreciation from the Honourable Governor of our state and our central governments wildlife institute of India .

Target group

Students will be more responsible towards their environment. They will be rooted to environment and its protection rather than just reading their environment studies books . This activity if started at very beginning of schooling can change the future of coming generation .in my belief a generation who things of sustainability and environment can lead this world in a better direction.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

I am an educator along with this i am environment activist and featured in UN 3 times for world oceans day art . I joined my new school and saw plastic wrappers in the school campus here and there in a big number . I wanted to change this scenario as i am fully aware of the hazardous effects of single use plastic for this i started this classroom activity .

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Yes my solution work as we started making eco bricks of the waste scattered in campus as a challange activity like students who will bring most number of eco bricks will be given an educational trips to wildlife institute of india and the results are amazing .not only their school and campus but they made eco bricks using plastic wastes from their home also which means they are now fully aware and responsible towards their environment and their waste management.

How has it been spreading?

First of all Honourable governor Of
our state Uttarakhand appreciated our efforts and promised us to install our eco bricks made art installation in Raj bhavan uttarakhand we are making this using our eco bricks.

Secondly , i am also making art installation using these eco bricks and wildlife institute of india have allowed us to place our art installation which will aware all people about pollution they also requested me to teach this activity in all of the Bal Ganga Prahari school of Our state uttarakhand.
This year in June 2023 i am also going to take class room activity in united nations world oceans day as this may act as a game changer to aware the school going kids to engage themselves in environment protection and make them more environment friendly

If I want to try it, what should I do?

It is a simple activity anyone can do it and can also manipulate or modify it according to situation.

Implementation steps

Basic introduction

First tell your students about a picnic a tour like how many of you want to go for an educational trips in which you dont have to pay anything in cash .i believe everyone will be excited as childrens love to go for outing.

Main task

Teach them that their tour is free but in return they have to collect the all plastic wrappers they are throwing here and there. Also tell them about the harmful effects of using single use plastic.

Time to show creativity

When they started collecting wrappers teach them how to make An eco bric by stuffing a plastic bottel with all wrappers called eco bricks . It look cool and classy in the same time the wrapper now are all stored in the bottel which can be used as a brick now in various construction. Tell them to create more and more ecor bricks to win a chance to tour.

The tour

Once the eco brics are complete you can contact any institution which can provide them an educational trip and in return you can construct art installations for the institute or you can donate it into ngos and get sponsored trips, certificates for your students.
