"Obtaining filament from PET bottles"

"From Bottle to Brilliance: The PET Journey"

Our innovation transforms collected PET bottles into 3D printer filament, creating a sustainable cycle. This high-quality filament is then used to produce educational toys for children, promoting environmental awareness and reuse. By converting waste into valuable products, we protect the environment and foster creativity, turning a problem into a playful learning opportunity.

Through our innovation, we aim to see a shift in education towards more hands-on, experiential learning, where sustainability and environmental responsibility are integral parts of the curriculum. By integrating the process of recycling and 3D printing into educational activities, we hope to foster a generation that values creativity, problem-solving, and stewardship of the earth, making environme

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

We created this innovation to address the dual challenges of plastic waste and the need for educational resources. By converting PET bottles into 3D printed toys, we not only reduce environmental pollution but also provide creative learning tools for children. This approach fosters sustainability, creativity, and awareness, turning waste management into an opportunity for education and positive ch

What does your innovation look like in practice?

In practice, our innovation involves collecting PET bottles, processing them into 3D printing filament, and then using this filament to print educational toys. These toys are then distributed to children, embodying a cycle that converts environmental waste into learning opportunities, thereby promoting sustainability, creativity, and environmental stewardship in a tangible, impactful way.

How has it been spreading?

If I want to try it, what should I do?

Pet Journey is a unique project that integrates recycling and social responsibility by transforming collected PET bottles into filament for 3D printing. Students from designated village schools collect PET bottles and deliver them to Maya Schools, where they are converted into filament. These filaments are then used by students to create toys using 3D printers. The ultimate goal is to gift these t

Implementation steps

PET JOURNEY
To implement the Pet Journey innovation, start by raising awareness about recycling in your community and the importance of managing PET waste. Organize workshops to educate your target audience on recycling processes and 3D printing technology. Set up collection points for PET bottles and collaborate with local facilities to convert these bottles into 3D printing filaments. Encourage participants to design and print toys from these filaments, emphasizing creativity and sustainability. Finally,
