Monoxer aims to boost life prospects by improving knowledge retention. At a public junior high, 90% of students felt more positive about independent learning, with 470 improving major subject scores from 44% to 70%. In fields like medicine, confectionery, and beauty, Monoxer is essential for students preparing for national qualification exams.

Why did you create this innovation?

Many books aim to aid memory but fail to address effective knowledge retention. To resolve this, Monoxer was developed as a 'Memory Platform.' Based on extensive research, it manages each student's retention status, ensuring they can reliably acquire knowledge across disciplines with minimal effort, enhancing learning outcomes.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Monoxer operates as a BtoBtoC SaaS business. Administrators like school or tutorial center teachers upload content into Monoxer for student memorization. The system then adjusts question difficulty and frequency, optimally delivering them while considering forgetting rates. Learning progress is numerically shown as "memory retention," reflecting each student's content retention.
Central to the system is the proprietary "Memory Graph" database, based on graph theory, supporting lifelong learning. As learners advance from elementary to middle school, teachers can assess strengths, weaknesses, and retention levels using data from both levels, streamlining learning by avoiding redundancy.
Administrators can create teaching materials and access a digital educational content marketplace on Monoxer, enhancing resource management and availability.

How has it been spreading?

Monoxer began its SaaS operations in 2018, targeting cram schools that sought to boost their reputations through effective test preparation, raising about 100 million yen that year. The service expanded to private schools, raising 440 million yen in 2020 and 1.81 billion yen in 2021. The Ministry of Education, aiming to provide various learning opportunities for "fair and individually optimized learning," encouraged public schools to adopt Monoxer for customized educational experiences and standardized knowledge acquisition. By 2022, Monoxer was used in vocational schools, universities, and corporate settings for exam preparation and staff development. In 2023, we expanded development in Singapore, planning significant international growth in the next 2-3 years.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

Monoxer operates in two modes:
1. BtoBtoC: Students join an organization to study its assigned tasks. By downloading the Monoxer app, registering, and using an organization's invitation code, they gain membership.
2. BtoC: Individuals can use Monoxer for free. Users download the app, register, and either create their content or use Monoxer’s free resources.

Implementation steps

1-1. toB Contract
Schools, cram schools, and general companies sign a contract with Monoxer.
Monoxer issues an organization management screen.
1-2. toB administrator(teacher or person in charge of training) creates an account
Register the administrator's account information on the Organization Management screen, and issue an invitation code to belong to the organization.
1-3. toB administrator connects student account with the Organization Management screen
Download the Monoxer application for free from the Google Store or Apple Store and create a personal account.
Type the invitation code into the personal account and link the account to the organization.
1-4.toB Create classes for students
Create a class hierarchy to which the learner belongs
1-5. toB Create or purchase content
To create original content, enter questions in the CSV format provided by Monoxer, and upload the file from the administration screen.
Purchase learning content sold by publishers within your organization.
1-6. toB Register student accounts
Register student account information on the organization management screen and issue an invitation code to belong to the organization.
1-7. toB Students connect their account to the organization management screen
Download the Monoxer app for free from the Google or Apple store and issue a personal account.
Type the invitation code into the personal account and link the account to the organization.
1-8. toB Task Distribution
Administrators distribute tasks from the organization management screen
Students check the delivered tasks on the app and proceed with their learning.
1-9. toB Confirm knowledge retention status
Check student's knowledge status on the administration screen
By sending stamps such as "Fight!" and "Good!", and comments, praise and encourage students' learning journey.
1-10.toB Deliver mini test
Optionally, upon completion of learning, the administrator can distribute the learning content as a quiz.
Learning tasks can be automatically converted into quizzes on the admin screen.
Students can check and take the quiz delivered on the app.
1-11. toB Coaching
The administrator compares and analyzes the results of the mini test and the level of knowledge retention, and provides learning coaching.
2-1. toC Download the app
Download the Monoxer app for free from the Google or Apple store and create an account.
2-2. select and study toC learning contents
Create original contents or use Monoxer's free content or from Monoxer's publicly available content.
If you create your own contents, you can upload the CSV format or input the data directly into the application by hand according to the in-app format.
2-3. toC Check learning results
Knowledge retention status can be checked from your own app.
