My great hope is to revive the heritage of our ulama: the greatest method to memorize is to write. When you write the verse, you understand it, you love it, and you protect it forever. What the hand writes, the heart never forgets. My dream is a Qur'anic Generation who can easily understand the Quran because they write it - 30 Juz with their own hands. Today, children's hands are busy with gadgets. Their focus is broken and parents are worried about HP addiction. My dream is to return their hands from the screen to the pen. To see their Arabic writing more beautiful than their Indonesian writing, and their self-control stronger than their desire to play with HP. The change I wish to see is simple: wherever a child is - even in remote NTT - they can practice this heritage method easily. When they want to memorize, they write. When they write, they understand. When they understand, they will guard the Quran for life. This is not just literacy, it is preservation. And with HundrED, this heritage can become a global movement and amal jariyah.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

I created this method because many parents in Kalosi, Wajo complained to me: their children had studied Quran for up to 6 years but still had poor pronunciation and could not read properly. That complaint moved me.

I started writing the method I had been teaching. By the guidance of Allah SWT, when I opened my laptop, the ideas flowed. Alhamdulillah, in 5 days the first pages were ready, and in 2 months Volume 1 was completed.

My principle was simple: every example must come directly from the Quran, starting from the easiest letters to pronounce. For each letter, I collected ALL its forms as they appear in the Quran. Each learned letter is always repeated in the next lessons, but with a new Quranic pattern, so there is no wasted repetition.

I designed Volume 1 for the letters in Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, Volume 2 for all letters in Surah Al-Fatihah, and Volume 3 for the remaining 7 difficult letters not in Al-Fatihah. I checked every single word to ensure it exists in the Quran.

Each word is presented twice: one clear and one faded trace underneath, so children practice writing while learning to read. Volume 4 was born because many students memorize Tajweed theory but fail in practice. So Volume 4 focuses on practical Tajweed and Waqaf Ibtida. All Tahsin is already inside Ali Mubarik Method, making students able to write and memorize 30 Juz easily.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

The innovation is a published 4-volume book series used at TPA An Ni'mah Kalosi for ages 4-6, 15 minutes daily.

Practice: Child reads a Quranic word, then traces the faded version below it. This dual model (clear + faded) builds reading and beautiful writing at the same time. We also add a letter-connection game using small colorful sorting bowls and Ali Mubarik teaching aids, where children physically pick and connect loose letters into Quranic words.

Volume 1 ends when the child can write Bismillahirrahmanirrahim completely. Volume 2 ends when the child can write Al-Fatihah completely. Volume 3 completes all Quranic vocabulary including the last 7 difficult letters. Volume 4 applies practical Tajweed and Waqaf Ibtida rules.

Result: 32 students aged 4-6 read fluently in 3 months and independently khatam 30 Juz in 6 months, while also able to write the Quran. This play-based approach keeps young learners engaged and loving the Quran from day one.

How has it been spreading?

It started in 2024 at TPA An Ni'mah Kalosi, Wajo, South Sulawesi with 32 students. I published all 4 volumes with my own personal funds because my only goal is to make it easy for children to learn the Quran. I printed the books myself and taught directly in several places.

After proven results - children aged 4-6 reading fluently in 3 months, writing Bismillah and Al-Fatihah beautifully, and independently khatam 30 Juz in 6 months - it spread from Wajo to 3 other regencies. Now it is used in around 4 regencies in South Sulawesi.

We now have a request from NTT (East Nusa Tenggara) to teach this method, but I have not yet been able to go due to limited funds for printing books and travel costs. The growth so far has been organic without any external funding. It is proven, low-cost, and ready to scale nationally.

How have you modified or added to your innovation?

Our innovation should be selected for 4 reasons:

1. PROVEN IMPACT: Children 4-6 years read fluently in 3 months and khatam 30 Juz in 6 months. Our 4-in-1 method teaches reading, writing, memorizing, and understanding in one book. Many parents report their child's Arabic writing is now more beautiful than their Indonesian writing.

2. SOLUTION TO GADGET ADDICTION: In Indonesia, phone addiction is a major problem for children. Parents complain children play with HP all day. With this method, children become focused, control themselves, and prefer practicing writing and sorting letters with bowls over playing HP. Parents see this positive behavior change and actively recommend it to other parents.

3. TRULY SCALABLE & LOW-COST: Published with my own funds, no technology needed. Already scaled to 4 regencies organically with a request from NTT. Only needs printed books and 2-day teacher training.

4. BRAIN-FRIENDLY & INCLUSIVE: Uses clear + faded tracing and joyful sorting bowls game, based on child brain development research. Works for all children including slow learners.

This is not just a book, it is a movement to save children from gadget addiction and make Quranic literacy joyful and achievable, built with personal sacrifice for the ummah.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

Our next steps are:

1. IMMEDIATE (Next 3 months): We urgently need funding support to print 500 sets of 4 volumes and cover travel costs to fulfill the request from NTT. This is our first cross-island expansion and will prove the method works nationally. The fund will also help us print books for teachers in 4 regencies in South Sulawesi who are waiting.

2. SHORT-TERM (6-12 months): Establish a Teacher Training Center at TPA An Ni'mah Kalosi, Wajo. Create a certified 2-day training module. Our goal is to train 100 teachers who can then train other teachers and parents. This addresses the real problem in Indonesia that many people still cannot read and write Quran, and also helps parents to guide children away from HP addiction.

3. LONG-TERM (1-2 years): Digitize Volume 1-2 into a free app with tracing feature to reach remote islands, while keeping printed books for TPAs. Partner with Ministry of Religious Affairs and universities for formal impact research.

4. IMPACT GOAL: Enable 10,000 children to khatam 30 Juz independently, write Quran beautifully (more beautiful than their Indonesian writing), and develop self-control from gadget addiction. We have proven this works with zero external funding. With HundrED's support, this can become a national movement for Quranic literacy and character building.

We hope this method becomes part of HundrED and you share in the reward in this world and the hereafter (amal jariyah).

Implementation steps

Introduce Letters with Props
Teacher prepares: 1 book Jilid 1, 10 small colorful bowls, Arabic letter cards. No tech needed. Place bowls on table. Teacher shows one Arabic letter, children say sound loudly, then put card into matching bowl. This looks like a fun game, not lesson. Children excited, focus increases, forget gadget. Inclusive for all children. Builds concentration, motor skills and love for Quran from first minute.
Play Sorting Game (10 min)
Children start sorting game. Teacher says letter name, children find card and put into correct colored bowl. They must say sound loud: 'Ba!', 'Ta!'. Teacher corrects gently if wrong, gives small star sticker. Each child gets 5 turns. No competition, all win. This active play trains brain to remember faster, improves focus, reduces gadget desire because real game is more fun. Parents can do this at home too with plastic cups.
Tracing with Finger (10 min)
Next, children trace Arabic letter shape using finger on sand tray or dotted paper from Jilid 1. Teacher shows correct stroke direction slowly. Children follow while saying sound. This connects eye, hand, brain and mouth. Kinesthetic learning helps children with special needs and low focus. 5 minutes tracing, 5 minutes writing with thick crayon. No pressure. This replaces screen time with fun sensory play, so children learn calm and patient.
Read and Write in Book
Now children open book Jilid 1 page for today. They read letter 3x with teacher, then write directly in book. Teacher uses praise: 'MashaAllah good!'. Children who finish early help friends, building empathy. No gadget needed, just book and pencil. This step builds habit of reading Quran daily and writing neatly. 10 minutes total. Child feels success, confidence grows, addiction to phone slowly replaced by love for Quran.
Show and Pray Together
Final 5 minutes: child shows their writing to class, says one letter they love today. Class gives applause. Teacher closes with short dua together and reminder: 'Quran is better than gadget'. Give small mission for home: teach one letter to parents. This creates pride, closes lesson with joy and spiritual value. Method completed in 35 minutes, easy to replicate daily, inclusive, low-cost, proven to help children control gadget addiction.
