Technology can be the enabler for education, however the most important is to be exposed to the right content.
Leap Learning AS is a Norwegian Ed-tech company impacting the global educational scene. We have developed our own portfolio of innovative and proprietary educational methods and technologies enabling children, and everyone else, to learn how to learn, wherever and whoever they are in the world. Our main focus is to secure equal opportunities, also for children with challenging backgrounds. Leap Learning´s over 300 educational apps, tailor made by pedagogical experts, cover topics like logic, literacy, numeracy, sustainability, social responsibility and entrepreneurship, combined with hands‐on games in an innovative classroom setting with dedicated stations - the Leap Learning Lab. The apps can be used on all devices such as smartphones and tablets, for Android and iOS.
Our method
We believe that combining technology and hands-on games is the key to learning, and by combining the two approaches it really helps building the intellect and improve the foundational skills of children. Children learn in so many different ways, and our apps are built up in a way that they capture different approaches to learn each goal on their way to crack the code of reading, writing, math etc.
The Leap Learning Lab
The Leap Learning Lab creates a safe, motivating and happy learning environment for the children. They are introduced to foundational skills such as logics and concepts before they start with the dedicated literacy or numeracy apps. Our experience is that the Leap Learning Lab enables more confidence and trust in both technology and in the children themselves by giving them a free play environment to develop themselves and learn at their own level and at their own pace.
Global use and reach
In addition to the apps being used in more than 200 schools in Norway, we now have Leap Learning Labs in about 20 countries worldwide, in Asia, South-America, Europe and Africa, available in English, French, Norwegian, Portuguese, Somali, Spanish and Spanish, with further languages in the making. We have also released a full set of entrepreneurship apps. Our proprietary technology, concept and method can easily be translated and adapted to various local contexts and languages fitting all age groups. We have, for several years, worked out in the field developing and promoting technology in education. The Leap Learning Lab is a revolutionary and cost-effective plug and play solution solving the educational challenges all over the world, as in crisis situations, refugee camps and less developed countries. We are running educational projects in cooperation with among others Save the Children, UNHCR, ADRA and Hydro.
Ours products:
· downloadable web-apps for logic, literacy and math;
· the Leap Learning educational apps pre-installed on a tablet, currently about 300 apps, installed with a custom launcher app;
· the Leap Learning Lab, either parts of it or as a complete setup, consisting of:
- tablets with the licensed Leap Learning educational apps pre-installed with a custom launcher app (to prevent the children to access anything else on the tablet)
- headsets
- misc. hands-on games (puzzles, spelling games etc)
- banners, station cards, app-book and print-outs
- colorful mats for each of the stations
- training manual and training video for facilitators
· the Leap Learning Hotspot, a rugged tablet with the Leap Learning literacy, math and entrepreneurship apps preinstalled, placed in a metal box available for the public in rural places.
