Invent Future Global

Bringing online global collaborative learning opportunities to young innovators around the world

To enable and empower students to invent and innovate the future in a gIobal context. In the past, the measure of education was “What do you know?” Now all the facts are easily obtained online. Today, and even more in the future, education is judged by “What can you do with what you know?” Being educated now requires using those facts to create a device or process that solves an issue or problem.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Invent Future.Global is an association of like-minded individuals representing innovative educational organizations across the world. We are passionate about providing students with the opportunities to share experiences and collaborate with students from other countries in online challenges, using virtual platforms and thus making international educational events accessible for all.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Invent Future Global (IF.G) organises online global collaboration learning events in English throughout the year, such as the SDG Challenges in which students from around the world work in teams to solve specific problems and issues, related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Other events include the Global Innovation Challenge whereby winning students or teams from each country present their inventions or innovations in front of an international jury. By participating in these events, the students develop cultural awareness, they learn to problem-solve and think creatively and to pitch their ideas in front of an audience and a jury. They also develop digital skills as they use online platforms to collaborate with their team-mates. These experiences braoden their horizons and strengthen their English communication skills, forming them into global citizens from the comfort of their own homes. IF.G makes international learning events accessible to all students

How has it been spreading?

Invent Future.Global was founded in 2019 by 4 organizations from China, Indonesia, UK and USA. At the start of 2020, Chile and Canada joined the team. In July 2020, IF.G launched the first event, the Summer (Winter) Challenge, with the participation of 24 students between 9-18. During the second half of 2020, many more organizations joined the association. In January 2021, the IFG Water Challenge, was launched, with the participation of 85 students from 15 countries.
