About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Rubbish in Iquitos, poverty, location in the rich Amazon region, low inclusiveness into global sustainability practices.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Public schools have access to big audience of young generation who can influence the situation. Children will learn the basics of circular economy and organise the project to collect plastics or organic residual, sell them and get benefits for school and their families.

How has it been spreading?

Yes, we had environmental awareness program in 2022 between schools in Peru and Finland and the both sides received valuable information and had intercultural exchange. During 2-3 years we would like to expand this activity for the other schools in Peru and other countries and launch world schools sustainability marathon
