Education for the Needy Children Through Modern Technologies(NeedyChildEduc Lab)

Many Asylum Seekers and Refugees in Kalobeyei located in Turkana, North Kenya live in poverty and struggle very much to make a decent living meaning among other things giving the children sufficient food and provide schooling for them. Many of the educated Asylum Seekers and Refugees with Secondary Certificates and Diploma also face these problems because they lack job opportunities. In the Kalobeyei Settlement, there are many vulnerable families (orphans, child headed families and widows) with poverty related problems. Often they have only little plots given by the Government of Kenya through the Refugee Affairs Secretariat and are not effective in their agricultural activities in general and for the agriculture of vegetables in particular. In a context characterized by strong demographic pressure which leads to scarcity of land, the Asylum Seekers and Refugees in Kalobeyei increasingly prioritize cultivating vegetables in the kitchen gardens in order to survive. Furthermore, parents with some Small and Medium Enterprises have trend to register their children in private schools which are starting to be implemented within the Kalobeyei Settlement. This is complicated when it comes the time to sustain the ration which is distributed by the World Food Program that provides only a ration which costs 14 Dollars per month. Children and Youth trend to drop schools because of forced marriage and early sexual practise. Not only The NeedyChildEduc Lab Project will contribute to support Children and Youth who dropped School through Modern Technologies by sharing school curriculums and other useful material online, but also it will give an opportunity to provide capacity building for Unemployed Holders of Diploma and Secondary Certificate on Curriculum Vitae Writing, Proposals Writing, Business Plan Writing, Fundraising, Community Based Organizations Management, Creation and Management of Community Cooperatives and Sustainable Development Mainstreaming.
