Climate change is taking a huge mental health toll with 77% of children more concerned about it than anything else. Teachers are desperate to help but don't know how. 95% of teachers want to teach climate education but <40% feel confident to do so. Climate education is a proven tool to combat climate change, but there is a lack of age-appropriate climate education for our youngest learners.
To fill this gap, remove the burden on teachers and alleviate children's' climate anxiety, Earth Warriors provides teachers with a ready-made, easy to use climate education curriculum for young children (3-11 year olds) using a positive and empowering approach. Teachers access to our online portal which has all of the resources needed to implement our curriculum: teacher guides and overviews for each age group, additional resources and teacher training. We practice what we preach about sustainability: our curriculum is activity-based & uses recyclable items for our activities creating no new waste. Our lesson plans can be adapted to any local context and we highlight places to do so. Our lessons can be implemented flexibly based on your school’s time and capacity: once a week for the year; every day for a few months; or as an after-school club. We save teachers time and energy by providing everything they need to teach these complex topics to their students.
At Earth Warriors, we spent the first year developing our curriculum to be the most high quality that it can be: we had it peer reviewed by experts from Harvard and Stanford universities and has been designed by teachers for teachers. Our curriculum launched this school year in four different countries reaching hundreds of students. We want to Earth Warriors reach as many students and teachers as we can in the next few years.
