About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Education is both about the teacher and the learner. To fully support the students, we need first to support the teachers. Especially in Vietnam, teachers have limited English proficiency and scarce learning opportunities. Day&Hoc (teaching&learning) is created with the aim to provide Vietnamese teachers a space to learn and develop.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Day&Hoc has a group of volunteers ranging from just students interested in education to teachers, educators, parents, experts. Each month, this group of volunteers helps build the content by translating English education materials, writing about their own experience (or experiments sometimes), summarizing education research to make it easier to access.
The final product is a free, online magazine uploaded to our website. Readers can freely download, share, and even print it.

How has it been spreading?

Day&Hoc has:
- published 33 issues;
- attracted 70 volunteers from all over the world;
- spread to more than 84.000 readers.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

We believe Day&Hoc is a simple idea anyone from anywhere can adopt. It will especially benefit developing countries with scarce resources.
