Why did you create this innovation?
In our system of cooperative learning, one principle is Cooperation as a Value. Cooperation needs to spread beyond the small group to embrace the whole world. That syncs with the SDGs.
What does your innovation look like in practice?
The lesson plans offer examples of the concepts explained earlier in the book. Thus, it’s about practices, not just the book.
How has it been spreading?
Cooperative learning is very in sync with many global trends in Education and society generally, although these trends also face headwinds. Finland, led by Pasi Sahlberg, has championed cooperative learning. Awareness of the SDGs also varies greatly. Furthermore, cooperating with classmates, like caring about people in other countries, faces resistance.
