What we do?
We are a non-profit organization that promotes peoples' wellbeing and development by addressing gender and sexual diversity issues with educational communities. We provide tailor-made workshops to students from all ages, teachers, parents and directive boards from different educational institutions. We are currently developing an application that will allow educational communities to mainstream the gender perspective through the curriculum and daily practices, therefore, boosting our job on gender equality and human rights.
Why we do it?
Social constructions regarding sex, gender, sexual orientation, have negative impacts on children, men and women in Chile and Latin America. Schools and homes are the most important spaces of socialization, where these preconceived ideas are reproduced. This reality jeopardizes peoples' rights. Some evidence of this reality is the following: in Chile, in 2018 homophobic and transphobic denounces increased to a 45,7%, with 484 actions of hate. Throughout Latin America, women have less access to STEM careers, face salary inequalities and 75% of them receive pensions under the poverty line.
