AI plus human infrastructure layer for inclusive education in the Global South

Cognitii is an AI-powered special education infrastructure that helps institutions identify neurodivergent learners with special needs early, provide personalized interventions, and generate real-time disability insights for educators and governments. Built for India and the Global South, we ensure every child, regardless of ability or geography, has a fair chance to learn, grow and thrive.

We hope to see a future where the playing field is equal for people of all identities, where a child, regardless of their ability, social status, gender, or geography can get an equal chance to learn, grow and contribute. With our work, systems would plan policies on real data, schools would become more inclusive in practice, educators would be better equipped, & children better supported.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

I grew up neurodivergent (Autism + ADHDH) in systems that were never designed for children like me and, I couldn't understand why learning was harder for me than others or why I struggled to focus, until I got my diagnosis as an adult at 22, that gave me answers to all my questions. I had learned to mask, to cope, to adapt, but rarely felt understood. As an adult, when I began working with schools and students, I saw the same story repeating for millions of children every single year.

And I realized I wasn't alone. India has 3.5 crore neurodivergent children, but most are never identified early, never receive support, and never enter mainstream classrooms. Families don’t know where to go, teachers don’t have training, and institutions don’t have tools. The system isn’t broken, it simply never had the infrastructure. That’s the gap we created Cognitii to solve. We wanted to build something that could work at population scale: early screening, personalized intervention, teacher support, and system-level visibility. Something that combined AI with human empathy. Something affordable for a government school, not only a private therapy centre or school. Most importantly, I wanted to build the solution I wish I had growing up. Cognitii is our way of ensuring children who learn differently are seen early, supported, and included fully.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Cognitii works through a simple flow. Children begin with a guided digital assessment that helps identify learning and developmental needs early. Based on this, they receive personalized, gamified learning pathways built for diverse learners. Educators receive a dashboard that helps them understand student needs and plan support more efficiently and schools get insights that help them strengthen inclusion practices. For governments, the platform offers a structured way to understand needs at scale and plan programs more effectively.

How has it been spreading?

Cognitii has been growing through school partnerships, word-of-mouth from educators, and early collaborations with government departments. Pilots in schools helped validate engagement and efficiency, leading to more institutions adopting the platform. Recognition from national incubators and global programs (T-Hub, WE Hub, HEC Paris, Women Entrepreneurs 4 Good, Unlock Her Future Prize) has increased visibility. Media features have also helped more organizations discover us. Most importantly, educators, parents, and mentors who see the need firsthand have been strong advocates, helping the solution reach the communities that need it most.
