Berry Street Education Model

The Berry Street Education Model provides a framework for schools to implement trauma-informed positive education.

The Berry Street Education Model is informed by the latest research in educating students who have experienced trauma, and also the latest research in positive psychology. We help all schools get the best out of all of their students, providing concrete strategies for teachers to implement the model. So far we have worked with over 400 schools and inspired over 1000 teachers!

About the innovation

We are ready to learn!

The Berry Street Education Model is a trauma-informed positive education framework that gives teachers concrete strategies that they can use in their classes. We are already active in over 400 schools in Australia. We believe that when teachers create a pro-active, pre-emptive, strengths-based classroom, students learn better. We believe that the foundation for academic outcomes stem from strong and positive relationships, and that these are built in micro-moments of classroom management. We show teachers how to build developmental resiliency in their students, through knowing their strengths, understanding their triggers, regulating their bodies and managing distractions. And we inspire teachers to be curious, practice gratitude, live with zest... and to breathe!

Call or email the Berry Street Education Model team. Email or call the Berry Street Education Model team to discuss what kind of training would best suit your school. We have worked with groups as large as 300 and as small as 6. We do have some flexibility, and can work with schools and other institutions to find the best way to deliver our training.
Training Days!
A fun, intensive and inspiring four days of training with the Berry Street Education Model. The Berry Street Education Model training is spread over four days, which can be split into single or 2-day intensives.

The first day focuses on our Body Domain, which teaches how to help students self-regulate their bodies and ensure that they are ready to learn by being present, centred and grounded.

The second day focuses on our Relationship Domain, in which we share with teachers the strategies they need to build positive relationships with students.

The third day is a combination of two domains, Stamina and Engagement. On this day we work with teachers to ensure they have concrete strategies to ensure that their students have the skills and strengths to learn in their classrooms.

And the final day is our Character day, where we share with teachers strategies to bring out the best in their students, focusing on values, strengths and hope.

Consult with the Berry Street Educational Model. The Berry Street Education Model is a whole-school approach to trauma-informed positive education, and as such, we can continue to work with schools to ensure that all teachers have adopted our strategies in their classes.
