About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

This is a platform where all education enthusiasts meet together for a day to share, exchange, and exhibit students’ learning in the fair. It is a low-cost exhibition event in which students from different schools showcase their learnings to develop educational, leadership, and professional skills, and instigate learning opportunities for students, teachers, educators, and the local leaders.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

The preparation plan begins to develop at the host school from the start of the year itself. Formal meetings are called out by the host school to the municipality, school principals, SMC head. The pre-event works to be mentioned include media, design, construction, hosting and hospitality, and outreach. The interested students to participate in the fair will also be called out for the application. The selected students will get training to do stall presentations. Final mock practice will be done in each participating school. For other teams, planning and orientation are done durin the pre-event period. Before everyone acts upon their respective tasks on the event day, there is a preparatory orientation meeting where all the teams gather and share their last-minute updates. The main event is focused on stall observation and presentation by students. It is completed with the handover ceremony to the other school.

How has it been spreading?

The learning fair has been happening annually in the same municipality for 3 years. Every year, more schools and colleges were interested to participate in the event. The first event witnessed the participation of 1470 visitors. It was more than 1700 visitors in the second and 4000 visitors in the third event including local administrative bodies, educators, and different NGOs were helmed as a well collaborated and a managed event.
Following a similar ideology, three different neighboring municipalities were have conducted the fair with grand success. The continuation of the fair has been supported by the municipality and many other nearby municipalities are also interested in taking this kind of fair. The fair is also well recognized in the global event of Teach For All Alumni Network.

If I want to try it, what should I do?
