Huddle Up Learning

Collaborative. Learning. Communities. Redefined.

Combine an LMS and a Project Management system. Our platform provides an asynchronous interactive learning experience to help teams solve the implementation gap between 'learning' and 'action'.  We move past passive video/quiz learning and focus on users sharing solutions and peer feedback asynchronously to allow them to learn from each other and build interactive communities of shared practices.

Teams and organizations realize that learning is collaborative and action-focused. We have to close the gap between "learning" and "application" to truly engage learners and leverage the power that we learn from and with others - not purely in a top down model.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Frustration over the current LMS platforms which promote passive (comprehension-based) learning and knowing that the real learning happens when we try to apply the content and skills for an authentic audience.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

In professional learning, consultants (or internal leaders of training/innovation/learning) will lead teams and organizations on the implementation of their learning. We extend the typical current practices of workshops, webinars and online courses by recognizing that the real learning happens "in the gap", between the trainings, when we try to apply the knowledge and skills in an authentic context.
Learners join a project - led by a project leader. They access resources and take quizzes, surveys, reflections, etc.. But the goal of the platform is for learners to share their applications. With unique solutions now in the platform, peer feedback can be shared which is both qualitative and quantitative around best practices, providing a data-rich environment for each learner and the organization.
As the group progresses, users can see who has shared solutions - thus building transparency and shared accountability while giving a voice to all.
Fewer meetings. Better collaboration.

How has it been spreading?

Word of mouth mostly. We are sharing it on Linked In. Consultants help us spread the model because they are using it as a model with multiple schools.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

1. Go to www.huddleuplearning.com
2. Register (free) and jump into a fictional project with fictional users.
3. Complete a form for a free trial with your team and test it out.

Implementation steps

Create a project
Determine the group you wish to join. The timeline of the project, the key resources you wish to share and the tasks you wish learners to complete. Here's a set-up guide. https://blog.huddleuplearning.com/2022/03/huddle-up-getting-started-guide-for.html
Add users
Share a URL to have them join. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1IgnKjOgvtz67LxLfOAmPaykUYTUQSVBMFhJMS7p_-WU/edit#slide=id.g282bcec9b8d_0_3
Project Begins / Edit on the fly
Users progress through the project, sharing solutions, reviewing each other's solutions, offering open feedback to one another and completing "Huddles" to share additional quantitative and qualitative feedback.
Of course, the experienced can be supported by synchronous meetings along the way, but even these meetings are aided by the reality that everyone has already shared their solutions and been able to give their feedback.
Complete Project. Share. Extend.
Upon completion, the cohort will have multiple solutions, feedback and data in the platform. This provides evidence of both process and product.
At this point, if desired, others in organization can join and benefit from the ideas shared.
Or, the group - or a new group - can build off of these ideas to iterate further.
