The announcement will take place alongside Global Education Forum (GEF) Madrid 2026, the international forum organised by Fundación Felipe Segovia with the support of SEK Education Group and Universidad Camilo José Cela.
The collaboration creates a unique opportunity to connect the global innovation ecosystem represented by HundrED with the international dialogue on educational governance and institutional responsibility in the age of AI promoted by GEF.
“Bringing the HundrED Global Collection innovators to Madrid creates a unique opportunity to connect some of the world’s most impactful education innovations with educators and changemakers from across the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking education ecosystem,” said Lasse Leponiemi, Chairman of the HundrED Foundation.
“This year’s Global Collection focuses on human flourishing, a theme that resonates strongly with many of the questions educational leaders are confronting worldwide. By bringing together the HundrED community, GEF participants and a wider network of international organisations, we hope to spark meaningful collaborations, accelerate the spread of proven solutions and create lasting impact for learners around the world.”
The Big Question: What Must Remain Irreducibly Human?
The conversations taking place in Madrid will address some of the most important questions facing education today: how to prepare learners for a world increasingly shaped by intelligent systems; what must remain irreducibly human in education; and how educational institutions should exercise judgement and responsibility when deciding what to adopt, what to scale and what to protect.
At the centre of these discussions will be GEF Madrid 2026, whose theme — Governing Intelligence: Human Judgment and the Future of Knowledge — explores how educational institutions should respond to a world in which artificial intelligence is transforming the creation, validation, distribution and certification of knowledge.
The collaboration also takes place within the broader context of Madrid Education Week, a series of international educational gatherings held in Madrid in November 2026. Alongside GEF and HundrED, Universidad Camilo José Cela’s Castellana Campus will welcome events organised by partners including the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), Fundación Querer and the Felipe Segovia Symposium. Together, these initiatives will bring educators, institutional leaders, researchers, innovators and policymakers from across the world to Madrid for several days of international dialogue and exchange.
