At HundrED, we have dedicated our work towards identifying, amplifying and implementing education innovations, and have recognised the need to prepare and equip our teachers and educators with the tools to begin implementing meaningful growth in their classrooms and schools. In order to make our insights more accessible and help guide individuals on their own innovation journey, HundrED is releasing our first online course “Education Innovation 101.”
“Education Innovation 101” is a free informational course aimed at all individuals in the education sector, whether you are a teacher, administrator, or student-teacher. It is a self-paced course that aims to inspire and inform so that participants will feel confident to understand, identify and implement innovations in their learning environments.
“At HundrED we believe in continuous improvement and we want to encourage the sector to experiment and implement new solutions within their context. We hope that this online course can be a source of inspiration to the education communities around the world to see innovations as a way to solve present and future needs” -Lasse Leponiemi, co-founder of HundrED.
The course is composed of a collection of short videos (1-8 minutes long), open discussions, and additional reading materials, all divided into manageable bite-sized modules. The videos include field experts, innovators, professors, and the HundrED team. Each video is designed to give you the basic building blocks to begin adapting the system in your home context. After viewing the video, you are invited to answer the given prompt in the open discussions section. As part of the open discussions, you will receive notifications whenever anyone interacts with your comments. The aim is to connect individuals, foster collaboration, and facilitate active conversations. Altogether there are roughly 80 minutes worth of videos, and the entire course takes 2-5 hours to complete depending on your pace.
“I love the structure of the course. It is clear, precise, oriented to the understanding of the real path for innovation.” stated Marcela Gómes. “It’s brilliant, I learned so much and will use the knowledge to go deeper with the process of my innovation implementation” commented Christa Campsall.
During the course we explore topics such as: What is education innovation? How do innovations spread? How to select the right innovation for you, and how to create an environment open to new innovations.
