About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Traditional math teaching has proved to be ineffective for many students. We are committed to providing a world-class education for all students, narrowing the achievement gap and helping students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to fully be a part of the twenty-first-century global economy.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Innovamat has developed research-based curricular math resources. Following our methods, kids learn math through manipulative material and highly dynamic lessons focused on problem-solving, communication skills and critical thinking. Innovamat provides a shift in traditional mathematics instruction and learning.

We are on the path to building a body of evidence of our method's success. Notably, our approach has been backed by many research papers of leading institutions such as NCTM (in New York) or Nrich (in the Netherlands).

Our products' main features are:
- Manipulative material for the classroom.
- A complete guide of math tuition (only for teachers), offering many activities, instructions, class tips, and evaluation advice, etc.
- A digital platform where teachers can find all materials, training videos, and exercises, among many other resources.
- Personalised counseling and direct communication with product experts.
- A self-adaptive App for students to practice and play.

How has it been spreading?

We started in 2017 offering our resources to First Graders in 13 schools - we have since grown very fast. With both teachers and researchers' feedback, we have developed materials to cater for students from kindergarten to Grade 8 (Ages 3-14).

Our lessons are implemented in more than 1,700 schools throughout Spain, Mexico, Chile, Italia Ecuador, and Colombia where we reach over 330,000 students and more than 15,000 teachers.

We aim to become a global company. We want to expand to North European and Anglo-Saxon countries during the next years.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

Innovamat has developed many resources for schools. Therefore, if you are an educational entity, teacher, or even a parent who finds our framework and product appealing, you should contact us through our email: info@innovamat.com

Our materials are currently available in Spanish, English, French, Catalan, and Basque. They will be soon translated into other European languages.

Impact & scalability

HundrED Academy Reviews

This innovation has a high scalability ration as over 1000 schools, 1100 teachers and 200,000 students have been reached. Its adaptive teaching methodology is an indication to that.

I think this innovation definitely offers a path to shifting teaching and experience of both teachers and learners when it comes to mathematics. This is very essential as we think of 21st century skills of children and learners.
