Passionate about education and technology. I believe in an education that helps develop the potential of young people and prepares them to create a more humane, just and happy world.
I have been occupying different roles in the education sector for five years, as a teacher and member of educational innovation teams. Why do you want to be a part of the HundrED Community?
My first steps in education were with Empieza por Educar (Spanish branch of Teach for All). I learned that network support and teamwork are necessary to consistently address major educational challenges. I believe that being part of Hundred.org will allow me to meet, learn and collaborate with other brilliant people and thus be able to have a greater impact all together. How can education support students to flourish?
I believe that education, understood from its broadest concept, must provide any human being with the possibility of developing their full potential. Knowledge and skills development should allow anyone to feel free and can choose to be whoever they want to be, regardless of their social and economic origin.
Education must provide spaces and learning experiences that allow such personal and professional development. What role does innovation play in education change?
Innovation must allow educational models to adapt to the new challenges that arise. For me, one of the main objectives of innovation in education should be to find solutions that allow all people to have access to the best education regardless of their situation.
I believe that we must be very responsible with the identification and implementation of innovations. I think it is essential to demonstrate its capacity for real impact due to the effect it can have on young people.Three HundrED innovations you love. (and Why?)
Aula 42: Project-based learning is one of my favorite methodologies along with service-based learning because it puts the student at the center and creates a learning space for them to develop their skills. Aula 42 has seemed to me a very consistent project to implement ABP both for the resources it offers and for its training program.
Edcamp: An incredible idea to promote learning and exchange of good practices between teachers. I especially liked its simplicity and the great impact it can have on the professional development of teachers.
Squirrel AI Learning: I am very interested in how technology can help reduce educational inequity. I find it very interesting how they use artificial intelligence to personalize learning and offer a cost efficient solution.Three innovations you would love for HundrED to know about. (and Why?)
- Fab Lab Sociales (Fundación Orange): a training program on digital manufacturing, aimed at vulnerable young people, to promote their active and participatory social inclusion and improve their employability, developing and improving their digital and social skills, increasing knowledge and collaborative work, motivation and interest in continuing learning as skills to promote their active social inclusion and improve their employability.
- E2O (Escuelas de Segunda oportunidad): Second Chance Schools (E2O) provide young people aged 15 to 29, without employment and / or training, an original pedagogical model based on innovative training through personalized itineraries, a reinforcement in basic and work skills, practical experiences in link with the business world, and support in social demands with special attention to the most vulnerable. The Association brings together the Spanish E2Os and the relevant actors from the business, educational, academic, social sectors and of course the young people themselves. Its actions are always developed in complementarity with national, regional and municipal policies, and reinforce cooperation at the Euro-Mediterranean level.
- Aulas Cooperativas de Padre Piquer: It is therefore a methodological and pedagogical proposal that is based on the principles of the inclusive school and that has two key elements: cooperative learning and the possibility of carrying out different tasks in the classroom.
The three proposals are examples of how networking is key to solving challenges within the educational field in vulnerable environments.
