As a teacher, I couldn't find engaging, quality digital content. Nothing was freely and easily available.
The few good contents were missing did not always match the curriculum.
I've started to create my own content for my classroom and posted it on YouTube. It had worked quite well until COVID, at this moment, all french-speaking parents and professors was looking for that. Success has started.
My solution is not a breakthrough AI technology, but it is what parents/professors are looking for every day: qualitative content, created by a real professor, based on a progressive pedagogy.
So, for each primary school lesson in maths, language or sciences (based on the official program of France), I am creating a cartoon. For each video, I am studying the best way to explain the lesson based on the best pedagogy.
The cartoon is also an "active video", the student needs to execute some exercises or answer certain questions in the front of the screen. We know that active video is much more powerful to memorize a lesson, than a passive one.
At the end of the video, I always propose Exercices you can download, a mind map or gamification of the lesson in order to ease the memorisation.
The idea is not to replace the school teacher, but to help parents at home or to help teachers in the classroom to introduce a new lesson.
Over the last two years, Maître Lucas has expanded very fast in the french-speaking country. We have developed our own website maitrelucas.fr, our YouTube & Vimeo channel and Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram pages.
Every month, it is 500k unique visitors across all this channel, and since 2017, it has been more than 6 million.
French President Mister Emmanuel Macron rewarded our help for the French students during COVID in April 2021.
For the next 2-3 years, we are finalising very enthusiastic partnerships with Telco, Publishing House, Medias and also ministries of education in order to help students everywhere in the world, even in developing countries, to get premium educational content.
