GIFTED was born on 15 April 2014, after 276 girls were kidnapped from a high School in Nigeria by terrorists; it was on the news all around the world. Some of the world’s most disadvantaged children with regards to access to quality education is in the continent of Africa, due to cultural gender discrimination. Gifted looks to change this by creating a welcoming atmosphere for girls to learn.
Gifted partners with schools in Africa to sponsor girl students through scholarships. We help renovate dilapidated educational infrastructure, by attarcting investors to donate. In the near future, we seek to build SCIENCE/TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING & MATHEMATICS [STEM] LABS for GIFTED PARTNER SCHOOLS (G.P.S) in Africa, as well as building & furnishing student Libraries. We also organize quarterly Science Fairs on school grounds for science inclined students. We Coach students on farming & agricultural techniques, finance COMPUTER & SCIENCE EQUIPMENT for some girl high schools in Africa. We also project to secure real estate (land/building) somewhere in Africa, for our long term goals. Gifted is a key organization that continually advocates for the education of the girl-child through attending seminars, conferences one-to-one outreaches, memberships in international bodies (UN, UNICEF).
Since inception, Gifted has been able to advocate for the eduation of the girl child in over 5 continents. We have attracted the attention of government officials in different countries to the exceptional work that we do, which has caused some policy changes in favor of girl child education. We have partnered with schools in Africa, and have made very good contacts that will allow us reach girls directly in funding their education through each of our many projects. The COVID-19 pandemic did affect our operations adversely by crippling our financial sources, not allowing us to meet up with our financial obligations, as donors who made promises here and there were not able to fulfill them. It is only now that we are trying to pick up from where we left out.
We welcome your efforts in any way possible by either joining forces in partnership with our organization to extend your voice in support of the eduaction of the African girl child; or you can support one of our projects, and also bring to the table interested parties who may be willing to donate to our cause. At GIFTED, we believe that when we educate a girl, we educate the world.
