Jenny O'Fee

Berlin, Germany

I am a Primary Principal in an International School community, and I simply love learning. Passionate about seeking ways to help inspire others in their learning journeys and believe in the power of inquiry, making learning connections and fostering empathy as a community.

I have been teaching, learning and leading in International Schools for the past twenty years. I am currently the Primary School Principal in an IB International school located in the centre of Berlin, Germany. I'm originally from Northern Ireland, where I began my teaching career, however, curiosity and a desire to learn and explore other languages and cultures prompted a move to Italy where I discovered the amazing world of International education.

I am passionate about learning through inquiry and promoting agency for all learners; making connections and promoting an active learning community is what I hope to inspire and nurture. I have experience, and a desire to continue learning how best to integrate technology meaningfully into inquiry based learning and discover ways in which it can empower learners and enrich experiences.

Learning and leading in a multilingual, multi-cultural environment is a place I just love to be.

Why do you want to be a part of the HundrED Community?

I want to be part of the HundrED community because I love to learn from others and find the HundrED Community so inspiring. I am curious to explore different approaches, ideas and perspectives and to be able to interact with so many fantastic thinkers all driven by the desire to improve education for all.

How can education support students to flourish?

Education can support all students find their passions, build relationships and connections that nurture, and empower students to act on what they have learned. Education enables us all to be empowered and encourages and gives students the confidence to make choices, share their voice and make a difference in the world around them.

What role does innovation play in education change?

Innovation is critical to education change making - it is what applying our learning is all about.

Three innovations you would love for HundrED to know about. (and Why?)

WriteUnite is a fantastic initiative that has the mission to 'amplify the voices of young people everywhere'. It promotes and gives a platform for student voice to be shared through writing from students of all ages in all languages. With the publication of these works, profits are used to support students around the world with much needed school supplies.
