Why do you want to be a part of the HundrED Community?

Equitable education has always been elusive, and I want to associate myself with the great people in the HundrED network dedicated to accomplishing the impossible.

How can education support students to flourish?

In great societies, education has the greatest ability to equalize future opportunities for all children. Education needs to be customized to meet the needs of each child. If these basic elements are followed, students can flourish.

What role does innovation play in education change?

Too often, progress in education is laden with inertia. Innovation drives the agility to deliver more individualized solutions for each student to maximize their true potential. Our educational institutions must dedicate themselves to being nimble enough to adapt to constant change occurring outside the walls of the institutions.

Three HundrED innovations you love. (and Why?)

1. Khan Academy. I have seen firsthand how impactful this platform has been to students. 2. All innovations focused on the emergence of the data economy. We need this to become standard throughout the world. 3. Innovations focused on personal responsibility such as financial literacy and social justice.

Three innovations you would love for HundrED to know about. (and Why?)

1. Parents and Guardians. It’s amazing to see how this largely untapped resource can impact education. 2. Students. It is vital to get students involved in their own futures. Often times, they can determine what they need in their future better than those empowered to make those decisions. 3. Community partnerships. Students need to apply their in-school learning to real world problem solving.
