About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Since 2003 we have run volunteer and travel programs and have received over 22000 young people from 42 countries on volunteer programs.

Covid 19 threatened to completely cut off our projects.

We then took our expertise in volunteering and combined it with technology to create this new way that volunteers and communities can benefit from each other.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Here is how the program works:

Students volunteer decide a time of day to do their project every day.

Then, then are matched with a suitable project based on time zones.

Training them on teaching, volunteering and language is the next step.

The program runs 5 days a week, an hour a day and is supported by a local teacher who plans the lessons, organises the class, and translates for the student volunteers.

Student volunteers need to prepare daily and be punctual. The minimum duration of the program is 2 weeks but minimum of 4 weeks is ideal.

Objective and subjective feedback is requested at the end and a certificate of online volunteering is issued.

Further, we would like to add an objective skill development assessment of the student volunteers and also improve the pedagogical aspects of the program.

How has it been spreading?

Since the development of the program began after Covid 19 lockdowns around the world, we have been spreading the program through our network of educational consultants from around the world.

Currently, we have participation from Finland, Brazil, Mexico, USA, Portugal, France, Australia. We are also

The program is only 1 year old but its potential to connect remote communities with people around the world is astounding.

In the next 2, we hope to engage 100 projects in 20 countries also support them with a steady flow of student volunteers.

We also intend to successfully tie-up with 50 schools in 10 countries and engage all of their 15 to 17-year-old students in the program, every year.

We are leveraging technology and best practices from multiple industries to achieve this goal.

If I want to try it, what should I do?
