I call myself a context- and phenomenon-obsessed educator who finds joy in encouraging young learners to understand and appreciate the principles of chemistry through collaboration, communication, experimentation, and self-reflection.Why do you want to be a part of the HundrED Community?
By being part of a disruptive learning community, I'll be able to share my perspectives on what truly matters in education and learn from the world's leading researchers, thought leaders and change agents. How can education support students to flourish?
Education should refine learners' thinking so that they could distinguish a fact from an opinion. It should help them evolve into their better selves so that they could help others and add value to the world around them. What role does innovation play in education change?
Innovation is the antidote to boredom and pedagogical fatigue. Disruptive practices will enhance empathy in learners where they would identify challenges and find solutions to complex problems.Three innovations you would love for HundrED to know about. (and Why?)
- Case studies in science education encourage learners to use an inductive learning model to make sense of concepts.
- Dual coding enables learners find meaning in their content by combining text with visual aids.
- Augmented reality apps could be employed to promote creativity and engagement in the classroom where learners model and interact with concepts, ideas, and objects.
