Ray Christian Cristobal

I'm interested in graphic design, media, communication, community engagement, and supporting NGOs that advocate for education equity.

Hi!

My name is Ray Christian Cristobal and I'm from Manila, Philippines. I'm a Teach for the Philippines 2017 cohort and was placed to teach in San Roque Elementary School, Navotas. I'm currently taking up Master of Marketing Communications in De La Salle University-Manila, and a Senior High School Arts and Design Track faculty teaching Graphic Design, Creative Industries, and Community Engagement in the Arts.

My research interest is how the emerging media and communication industry can support nongovernment organizations' efforts in giving awareness and promotion causes. I would like to research further on best practices from other countries, and hopefully apply it in the Philippines.

Why do you want to be a part of the HundrED Community?

I would like to learn from the best practices in our international partners on how they provide quality and relevant education to public and private school students.

How can education support students to flourish?

Education support students to flourish by making them part of the community. Having educators as allies to support them in their personal and academic development.

What role does innovation play in education change?

Innovation challenges educators and students and at the same time, empowers them to learn and share about their potentials.

Three HundrED innovations you love. (and Why?)

(1) Positive education because it helps students and their communities flourish while they are learning. (2)Roots of Empathy because it encourages students to make friends, care for others, and stand up to injustices. (3) MeeTwo because it builds resilience in our younger generation and encourages their students to help each other. It educates students about wellbeing, empathy and mental health.
