Why do you want to be a part of the HundrED Community?

I wish to get involved in the bringing about a change in school education sector. I feel very strongly the HundrED is the platform from where sharing and learning of new experiences and innovations is done with a real intent to bring about a positive change in the way schools function. Hence want to be a part of HundrED community. 

How can education support students to flourish?

Our intention in facilitating learning for students is very important. If we wish that the students should know how to learn and we would support them in that process then I feel it will certainly make students flourish.

How is learning happening in the class? How is the real life connection established and are we verifying the learning of students? Are we giving them exposure to hands on learning? I feel these are critical aspects to look into to ensure that education will support students to flourish.


What role does innovation play in education change?

With small changes in a positive way-which affect the students positively, we can bring about the desired change or innovation in school sector.

It is only innovation which can act as a catalyst to take forward and speed up the momentum for inculcating the necessary life skills in students and ensuring that they flourish.


Three HundrED innovations you love. (and Why?)

1. Design for Change

It does talk about the change being first felt and experienced by the student. Secondly, it is scalable. Third, it ensures that the impact is seen and felt by the stakeholders.

2. The child centred model for well being.

Happiness of children is the foremost important point in school education and child's well being is what we seek for.

3. The daily mile

It is absolutely improtant for students to stay fit and physical education is very important in any child's life.


Three innovations you would love for HundrED to know about. (and Why?)

1. Teacher rating teachers

This is practised in my own school , where at the end of an academic year teachers are given 15 pointer questions and are asked to write names of 3 teachers whom they feel fit in the said criterion of the statement. After this, teacher who gets maximum nominations from his/her own colleagues is felicitated.

2. Monthly lecture series by Parents

Parents are called to interact with other parents of the school on topics of school education.

3. Idea of the month

In a faculty meeting, every month one staff member is encouraged to share one idea/innovation and others are expected to try to implement the same.
