Why do you want to be a part of the HundrED Community?

I believe that sharing teaching and learning experiences is essential for more equal education in the future. Being part of this community means committing to an improvement in education in a global sense and mainly in being attuned to everything that is happening in the universe of education.

How can education support students to flourish?

Education can help to open up a path of possibilities and opportunities for students.

What role does innovation play in education change?

Innovation allows us to reflect on our practice and make us look at teaching and learning from different perspectives.

UPCYCLED WEARABLES Project

STUDENTS DISCUSSED THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RECYCLING AND UPCYCLING. CONSIDERING THAT UPCYCLING HAPPENS WITH MATERIALS WHICH CAN’T TRADITIONALLY BE RECYCLED (LIKE COMPUTER PARTS OR OLD MACHINE PARTS). 7TH GRADERS CONCLUDED THAT ENGINEERS AND DESIGNERS BOTH IDENTIFIED PROBLEMS WITH THE CONSUMPTION OF ELECTRONICS NOWADAYS AND CONSEQUENTLY ARE SEEKING OUT NEW WAYS TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. STUDENTS FOUND OUT THE WAY THE ARTIST YUMA FUJIMAKI USES ELECTRONIC TRASH TO PRODUCE HIS JEWELRY. 7TH GRADERS GOT INSPIRED BY HIM TO PRODUCE THEIR JEWELRY WITH THE ELECTRONIC TRASH COLLECTED IN THE COMMUNITY.

Upcycling Fashion Project

In this project, students sought to better understand the product use cycle, the resources used in its production, and the impact of its waste. They reflected on the consequences of consumerism for modern and future societies and the environmental impact of it. As we develop our recycling workshop, we look for ways to encourage people to have information and awareness relevant to sustainable development and lifestyles in harmony with nature.
