Educational visionary and entrepreneur - always curious as to the next brave steps we can take in education.
Founder of Autens - an unusual consultancy specialising in re-imagining education and schools for the Future. Our mission is to contribute to amazing learning and life opportunities for all children and young people.
We combine 21st Century learning practices, vision-driven school development and a new generation of inspiring learning spaces & school architecture in bold transformation, training and design projects small and big scale. All in the spirit of student voice, imagination, co-creation, playfulness and passionate dedication to people and learning.
An example of how we work with innovation in education is our Learning Space Design Lab which has been selected for HundrED Global Innovations. It's professional development combined with reimagining learning space design. It aims to transform the learning culture in the classroom to an inclusive, personalized and creative experience with student choice and voice.
We work with cities, schools and international organizations to change education and connect schools and people across disciplines, organizations and nations.
Our modest hope is to contribute in any way we can to young peoples ability to identify and follow their passions and not least create amazing opportunities in life for themselves and their communities far beyond what any of us could have imagined designing their education.
I have the pleasure and priviledge of co-leading The Global Schools Alliance in collaboration with our amazingly innovative school leaders who inspire far beyond their local reach. I also serve on the board of several schools and a promising new edu start-up in Los Angeles set up by students. Why do you want to be a part of the HundrED Community?
We share the philosophy that good things grow from being shared, and inspiration is the most important fuel for progress. How can education support students to flourish?
Education can open the minds of people, uncovering the abundant opportunities in life that lie before each and every one of us.
As such education is precious and a human right. Far from every child and young person in this world get the opportunity to experience great education, yet they should. It's crucially important to the individual person and to the world as such that everyone of us are equipped to lead lives of value to ourselves and our communities. What role does innovation play in education change?
Innovation is by definition a key driver of change. Ideas that were not possible in education just 20 years ago now hold the potential to change education as we know it and democratize access and opportunity.Three HundrED innovations you love. (and Why?)
Mantle of the Expert - a powerful, engaging learning method that I absolutely love and hope to include more of in the training we do with teachers
High Tech High - as this school (and other great PBL schools) goes against the (US) tide and offers engaging learning where students do meaningful work that matters. With a socially diverse student body the schools almost 100% college acceptance is unique.
The Global Oneness Project - bringing empathy to global education and the challenges we share as human beings in the world.
Three innovations you would love for HundrED to know about. (and Why?)
High School for Recording Arts - for their ability to change the life trajectory for young people through meaningful real work that matters.
