One of the most remarkable things about Jose María is his capacity for acceptance and lack of judgement and culpability. Instead of disputing blame, Jose Mari leads the revolution of empowerment, pushing forward to promote a prosperous future. Jose Mari believes in leaving the world better than he has found it. Working alongside him has definitely changed my perspective of working with challenging future partners. When asking the question, “why are we working with this company if we are not in agreement with its value?”, Jose Mari asks another questions, “Do you want to make a change in the world?”. In order to make a change in the world it is necessary to have discussions that, first of all, make people reflect. On the other hand, companies who do not necessarily have the same opinion, also make us think and reflect about how we are working, and what we are working towards. This diversity gives the team different perspectives and enriches all of our learning experience.

What role does innovation play in education change?

The current educational model, where skills such as creativity, teamwork or empathy are ignored, is incompatible with entrepreneurial education. Fragmentation by subjects, an undefined role of the teacher, isolation of individual learning, obsolete examination systems, accumulation of theoretical contents, and student passivity and frustration as a result of a system that doesn’t connect the students’ learning with their interests, motivations and personal skills, are some of the barriers identified.

We make ours what Sir Ken Robinson said to The Guardian media group already 9 years ago; "All youngsters start their school careers with sparkling imaginations, fertile minds, and a willingness to take risks with what they think. Most students never get to explore the full range of their abilities and interests ... Education is the system that is supposed to develop our natural abilities and enable us to make our way in the world. Our approaches on education are stifling some of the most important capacities that young people now need to make their way in the increasingly demanding world of the 21st century - the powers of creative thinking", he says.

2)Prop Roots (China) : The Prop Roots Education Center is a non-profit organization benefiting children in a rural community, most of which belonging to the Jingpo ethnicity, in a remote and much disadvantaged part of China, bordering Myanmar. The project aims to empower these kids and give them more confidence, by ways of language and art education and eye-opening intercultural exchange. The project emphasizes that all children are unique, and that they have a cultural background to be proud of. More self-esteem makes them stronger when facing the temptations of the cheap drugs that are flooding the society. As from 2016, Prop Roots also facilitates opportunities for high-quality vocational schooling.
