STEM and Robotics Educator

Coach Jennylou is a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy graduate at Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Maragondon, Cavite, Philippines. She has served as an accountant and a night Auditor, in several manufacturing and service companies in Cavite. Her passion for teaching when she was a private tutor in her high school and college years, ignited her drive to take 24 units of Professional Education and Masters in Educational Management units in her Alma Mater.

She stated her professional career as an English and Math teacher in 2004 in a private elementary school. In 2005, she then served as a high school English, Math, Research, Economics, ICT, Research in Science and Robotics teacher at Cavite National Science High School in the Philippines. She attended and facilitated several robotics, ICT, math trainings and workshop and competed and won several local and international competitions in different fields with her team.

In 2014, she moved to the US to teach in the states of Mississippi, Virginia and finally settled in New Mexico where she now currently teaches Math and Robotics. She is also part of several local and international organizations in different countries.

Her active contribution in the global community has been recognized with awards such as Life Changer of the Year Nominee, US; Contribution to Education – NMFil Pamana Awards,US; Most Innovative Teacher, Dubai; Outstanding Mentor of the Year – RoboRAVE China, Brilliant Coach, IREA World Robot League Korea and more. She also serves as the Director of Robofest Philippines, RoboJam Philippines, RoboRAVE New Mexico, a NASA JPL Solar System Ambassador and Director for Academic Content – RoboRAVE International up to date.

Currently, she is an Asst. Professor – Special Lecturer I at Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Instructor at Cavite State University – Trece Martires, Robotics Instructor – Baoding Normal School China, Math and Robotics Teacher at Bernalillo Middle School, US. She is an expert in ensuring positive possibilities as an ICT/ robotics consultant and an ambassador of multiple EdTech Tools and as a team player. Passionate about promoting positive possibilities, I hope to be part of the amazing innovative educators of HundrED. I want to share and learn from the community that helps shape the future of the next generation.

How can education support students to flourish?

Education coupled with innovation and responsible global citizenship will help students become assets of the community.

What role does innovation play in education change?

Innovation makes the teaching - learning process more effective and efficient. With the application of functional literacy, sustainability and employability skills, education will never be the same.
