Why do you want to be a part of the HundrED Community?

The HundrED community allows for the sharing of innovative practices across the globe with some of the most talented educators. We need as a community to push education to evolve into a practice that values equity, understanding, and innovation to meet the needs of the future. Too often, innovative educators practice in isolation, the HundrED Community is a place for support where creative energy can flourish.

How can education support students to flourish?

I believe that the role of education is to support the talents of the students we encounter.  Education should be deeply rooted in relationships, to encourage the agency of children as they develop into purpose driven adults.  We need to reimagine education so we place greater emphasis on autonomy, student voice, positive risk taking and real world experiences.

What role does innovation play in education change?

Humans have constantly evolved through innovation.  Education serves a vital role in the development of young people, so it is absolutely essential that the institution of education evolves as the changing landscape of work, family and society changes.  Education is a social justice pillar that can serve to uplift people. Equity of access and quality are keys to improving the lives of people across the globe and education serves a pathway for the realization of that lofty goal.
