I grew up in the Baixada Maranhense, in a region full of potential and vulnerabilities. I learned from an early age to think about ways out of the material difficulties we had. Being creative was one of the greatest lessons I could learn in my childhood. The Baixada Maranhense is what feeds my ideas, thinking of a region that has a lot of potential, but that has a history of not structuring investment to be unveiled. It is from there that my ideas, my concerns arise and that I create the Incubator as a democratic, inclusive and transforming space.

About me

I grew up in the Baixada Maranhense, in a region full of potential and vulnerabilities. I learned from an early age to think about ways out of the material difficulties we had in my family and surroundings. Being creative was one of the greatest learning experiences I've built since my childhood, and Baixada Maranhense is what nourishes my life; living different experiences in the world, loaded with positivity and negativity, nourishes my actions. The Baixada Maranhense will always be my greatest challenge and my affectionate and fearless surrender, as a starting point for so many other actions of reactions: like many other regions in the world, to which I was born has a lot of potentiality but, a history of not structuring investment that reveals its abundance. The Incubator is created to be a democratic, inclusive space for the transformation of ideas into projects, programs and policies, and I grew up in the Baixada Maranhense, in a region full of potential and vulnerabilities. Why do you want to be a part of the HundrED Community?

The Incubator is a space to foster ideas, design projects and experiment with methodologies and new technologies of educational sports, with content aimed at strengthening inclusion, respect for diversity, gender equality and development of people and their places of life. It is a space where everything that is developed is open for global use and needs to be irradiated.

We strongly believe in what we do and therefore consider it important to share our ideas and various solutions with organizations such as HundrED. We want to be in this network radiating knowledge so that they can improve realities.

How can education support students to flourish?

Everything is very dynamic. And with this new context in which we are also inserted, of the IV Industrial Revolution, the reflection on what to do must be continuously carried out. This answer is not the same as the one I would have given when I started work 9 years ago. Today, the young person has other desires, likes to talk primarily with other young people and this needs to be considered. What to do? Respecting young people, believing in their potential, listening to them, putting them to think and design projects. Use their energy, their dreams, their knowledge so that they flourish and radiate knowledge that improves realities. It is necessary to give opportunities for this to happen. No matter where the young person is born, if he has the opportunity, he develops.

What role does innovation play in education change?

The Incubator has a strategic role in the development of educational sport, providing new modalities and curricular contents that enable fighting prejudice, inclusion of all in the same game, sport as leisure and brings to a more playful and cooperative reality, in the collective, students who increasingly isolate themselves in their virtual universe.

Three HundrED innovations you love. (and Why?)

These are initiatives that are close to what I think about moving to the place where I live. I like new things, audacious, with courage and that believe that we can transform the world through education.
