I am an international school leader and teacher, passionate about empowering children's lives through education.

About me

I spent most of career in schools in the UK and in the British education system. Having worked in very multicultural and multilingual schools throughout my career, I have built my expertise in working with teachers, children and parents from a multitude of nationalities, ethnic and social backgrounds. Such experiences have helped me to enrich my leadership and teaching capacity and to develop an international minded approach to education. I am also a passionate advocate for the purposeful use of technology linked to pedagogy.

Why do you want to be a part of the HundrED Community?

HundrEd offers their participants a space for collaboration, sharing of best practice and encourage an innovative mindset to student-centred education. 

How can education support students to flourish?

Education has the ability to inspire and equip students with knowledge and skills to lead a fulfilling life. Education has the power to change people's mindsets so they can impact other lives positively. Education has the chance to make society fairer and more equitable.  

What role does innovation play in education change?

I personally understand innovation as the ability to think creatively at local problems. It doesn't always mean creating something completely from scratch but reassessing and adapting current practices to meet the needs of the learners. Students change and new learners should inspire a new school. This might be a small change or even adapting a project to your own setting. Innovation has more to do with one's mindset and the impact it has on the students' learning.

Three HundrED innovations you love. (and Why?)

MeetTwo - What is really appealing about this innovation is the use of digital media to engage young people in positive and supportive conversations about mental health and wellbeing. 

Teach the Teacher - The most fascinating thing about this innovation is how the students became the driving force for professional development, urging teachers to review their practice putting the students at the centre. 

Voice 21-  I have known this project since its infancy and I have to say I am not surprised to see it featured on hundrED. It is truly fascinating how an organisation can inspire and equip students to become better speakers and thinkers.
