The Gaming Room
To create the world’s finest gaming room for learning that will feature the most interesting games in education as well as the required technology for enabling it. The room will be open for use during classes and free periods. In the Spring of 2017 we will be analysing the results and formatting the experiment in a replicable way to be used in other schools.
What is the idea of the experiment?
The aim of our experiment is to make gaming an enjoyable and exciting part of the school day. During the Fall of 2016 we will attempt to identify the best educational games from around the globe. We will then will acquire the necessary technology and space for each game. In Spring 2017 the final selection of games will be implemented in a brand new Gaming Room as part of our daily lessons.
Is this a new experiment or is this based on an existing one?
The experiment is new and has not been previously trialed.
How will the experiment be scheduled and how will it be put into practice?
In the Fall of 2016 we will identify a school that is interested in collaborating with us. We will work together with the chosen school we will select the world’s best educational games. Finally, we will build the actual Gaming Room in our partnering school school and conduct ongoing research on the effect of gaming in education throughout the Spring semester.
What are the goals you are looking to achieve with the experiment?
The goal of the experiment is to research learning through gaming as well as the practicalities of places a gaming room within a traditional school building to create a new kind learning environment.

We believe that by being a part of HundrED our experiment will be given the recognition necessary to make implementing it easier.
