Teachers Without Borders
Teachers Without Borders is a concept created in Finland in which Finnish teachers plan and put into practice a continuous professional development program for teachers and teacher trainees. In addition, Teachers Without Borders will be supporting the development of pedagogies in partnering developing countries. More specifically in this HundrED experiment teachers from Lauttasaari in Finland will be helping teachers in Cambodia and Cambodian teachers will be visiting the teachers in Lauttasaari to learn about the school system.
What are the goals you are looking to achieve with this experiment?
The goal is to support teachers pedagogically abroad in challenging areas of the world, such as Cambodia, to implement global education into schools in the Lauttasaari area and improve the vision and the value of the teaching profession in Finland.

Teachers Without Borders is a concept created in Finland in which Finnish teachers plan and put into practice a continuous professional development program for teachers and teacher trainees. In addition, Teachers Without Borders will be supporting the development of pedagogies in partnering developing countries.
The students, parents and entrepreneurs of Lauttasaari will be fundraising for the experiment and engaging in global education by learning about Cambodia.
How will the experiment proceed in the spring of 2017?
In the spring of 2017 four of our teachers will be preparing themselves for the training conducted in Cambodia, with the training taking place in June 2017. The Lauttasaari schools will be implementing global education into their curriculum and enhancing the students’ awareness of the challenges Cambodian children face. Students will be planning ways to raise money to help to create better futures for the Cambodian children.
How will the experiment change the way we educate?
This experiment will change the pedagogy and education in Battambang lower secondary school in Cambodia.
The people involved in Lauttasaari, Finland, ranging from students, teachers, parents and other agents of change will gain experience from the experiment and gain knowledge on the realities of Cambodian children and schools - an opportunity to learn global education.
