Introducing How the World is Changing to Teachers
Campus is a series of free-of-charge events for teachers. Organized in five different countries in 2015, Campus is an aggregate of various experts who seek to explain to teachers the global changes taking place in different fields outside of the classroom. The goal of the seminar is to excite and empower teachers. In this HundrED experiment each keynote at Campus will be transformed into educational material over the course of Fall 2016.
What is the idea of the experiment?
The keynote speeches of Campus will be transformed into educational material. In order to help teachers teach about the real world and about global changes taking place in it, the speeches will be turned into e.g. videos, pdf-documents, photos and games. The educational material will be brainstormed, carried out and tested in collaboration with teachers and schools involved in the project.
Is this a new experiment or is this based on an existing one?
SCOOL Ltd. has been organizing Campus seminars for teachers to help them understand global changes since 2011. However creating educational material from the keynote speeches in Campus is a new expansion.
How will the experiment be scheduled and how will it be put into practice?
We will begin to create the educational material in September 2016 and testing them in practice will take place in the beginning of 2017.
What are the goals you are looking to achieve with the experiment?
The goal of the experiment is to increase collaboration between teachers, help teachers and students understand the world and the global changes taking place and to inspire them to create something new. The world is changing faster than ever. In order to be able to excite children, teachers have to understand how. Change must become a key theme in schools so that teachers and students can embrace it with excitement and see it as an empowering opportunity.
