Collaborative teaching is one of the most interesting teaching methods of the future. In this HundrED experiment we will be trialing this method in Oulujoki school. Two third grade teachers will be working together to plan, brainstorm, implement and assess teaching in a third grade classroom with forty students. Through this experiment we will create a modern collaborative teaching model in which the strengths of students and teachers will be the center of attention.
What are the goals you are looking to achieve with the experiment?
The goal is to create a holistic model for collaborative teaching in which the teachers are genuinely working together. Collaborative teaching will bring about a completely new operational culture that emphasizes personalized learning paths, collaboration and systematic practices in broad competencies.
How will the experiment be put into practice?
The planning has begun in the spring of 2016 and the experiment’s new learning environment has been built prior to the school year. The trialling will begin in the fall of 2016 as soon as school starts. Some of the students will be meeting one another for the first time so the beginning of fall is there chance to get to know each other. We’ll also be developing a set of guidelines collaboratively. The experiment will progress throughout the 2016-2017 school year.

The experiment is based on previous shared experiences and thoughts.
