My name is Jordy from Mexico and I am a student. That's it. Just a student. A student who believes there is so much more to education than we are currently receiving. I encourage the idea of students being the center of their own education and having a say in every part about it. Education is for the students, so students should have the biggest voice when it comes to deciding what is the best for us students.

I wanted to be a part of a growing community of people from around the world seeking a change in a stagnant education system and help represent and spread what the students' have to say, what they are thinking, what they are feeling and what they are doing in education today.Three HundrED innovations you love. (and Why?)
The first HundrED innovation I fell in love with was THINK Global School as it truly allows students to learn by being in the real world. As students, we need need to be shown clearly why what we are learning is important, and if not, it becomes tedious labour without purpose. THINK Global School puts students right in the middle of where the learning takes place, allowing them an opportunity to not only understand its totality but also to visually see and experience its importance.
My second favorite innovation is 10 Minute Plays because it is the kind of innovation that, if it is done properly, will help students develop a deeper learning of the subject at hand and even make it personal and relevant to them. A part of acting is about understanding the character you are playing and the setting you are in, which is what makes this innovation so fantastic! To write and act out a play set during the Great Depression means students truly need to research not only what was going on during that time, but also how the people thought during those times, how they behaved, what struggles they were going through and why, what they valued, and so on. In my opinion, this innovation is an excellent way to learn history, and would truly peak my interest to the maximum.
The last and final innovation I love is Big Picture Learning because it truly puts students at the center of their learning. Like Sir Ken Robinson, I believe everyone is talented at something, no matter what it is, and education should help students find their talent or develop it so that they can leave school feeling prepared and happy for what is to come ahead. Big Picture Learning allows students to explore and learn through their passions, giving student's an opportunity like no other and returning them the love they were born with for learning.Three innovations you would love for HundrED to know about. (and Why?)
I would love HundrED to know about SiCoEM as it is the system used in the orchestra-band where I learned to play the french horn, and a system I believe is truly innovative. The program, completely free to children between the ages of 6 and 18 is a wonderful space to not only develop your musical abilities, but also to develop a sense a community, learn to love and respect one another, and learn the importance, power and enjoyment of being a kid.
