I believe that entrepreneurship can and must be used to tackle problems in education. I love education, and love being a teacher; but I believe education must change. I believe that 21st century education needs to focus much more on developing social & emotional skills. Currently, I am CEO of CoSchool in Bogotá, Colombia. Since 2014, we have been hard at work to develop the best methodologies possible to develop skills such as empathy, self-awareness, decision making, and collaboration in Colombian youth. Our work has been recognized and supported by The Gates Foundation, The Templeton Foundation, Unreasonable Institute, GSBI, and Teach for All among others.

I remain heavily involved with the NGO The Huracan Foundation, which I set up in 2011 following a remarkable story involving the power of football to connect people and transform lives.

Why do you want to be a part of the HundrED Community?

I have always believed that it's impossible for one organization to ever have all the answers. Sharing with others, learning about best practice and challenges that others have faced is vital for Coschool and for me as the CEO of Coschool.

We want to learn from others on scaling up, on working with the public sector, and using technology to train teachers on SEL. We want to share our progress on those issues with others as well.

Three HundrED innovations you love. (and Why?)

Escuela Nueva - successful scale up of a model to become public policy that started as a private initiative.
