Livingstone, Zambia

Hi I'm Chiteu, Youth Leader, student and Environmental activist. I'm a Global Youth Ambassador for Theirworld. I'm also a digital marketer and author.

Chiteu is a 23 year old Bachelor of Environmental Engineering student from Copperbelt University in Zambia. He began his journey in youth activism as an ambassador for Akshaya Patra foundation, which is a not for profit making organization which strives to end hunger by providing nutritious food to children. He then became a member of the Internet society which is a network that promotes open development and the evolution of internet usage.

He later on joined the Copperbelt University Environmental Engineers Society (CUEES) which existed to promote awareness on the discipline of environmental engineering, and to provide members of the Society with information, training and representation within this field. CUEES carried out programs such as the mass campus tree planting campaign to help promote climate action.

He then enrolled for the Share Leadership program after assessment which believes that our society needs a new economic paradigm – which is more balanced and combines economic performance and societal progress. He was then appointed as campus recruiter for CBU campus chapter.

He was appointed as an ambassador for HundrED which is a global organization who's mission is to help improve education through impactful innovations. He then documented a project concept titled EasyZambia Girl Child Enlightenment and Empowerment Program (EZGCEEP) which focusses on advocating for the rights of the girl child and the differently abled persons.

He then attended a basic entry level programming training program hosted by ESRI and LTS. There, he managed to engage some students to form a social enterprise group called ORIONWEB under Muthoch Innovations. They conceptualized and idealized a highly interactive and vast functional super app that would reinvent the way various sectors carry out their business. The concept pitch made it to the kenyan regional finals of the Global Hult Prize Competition.

He was selected to join Million Peacemakers which is a global community of professionals, coaches, activists, scholars, and students co-creating a culture of peace. He was made member of the partnerships committee of MP.

He attended the grant proposal writing workshop hosted by the US Embassy at the American corner and also attended the small business academy training hosted by She Entrepreneur and the US Embassy.

He was recently selected as a class of 2022 Global Youth Ambassador for Theirworld which is a global children's charity committed to ending the global education crisis and unleashing the potential of the next generation.

Chiteu has also been actively campaigning for environmental awareness, through his social media EasyZambia initiative. He is really passionate about deliberating on issues of climate action and gender equality.
